BLACK SAM BELLAMY arrived at Gestut Faehrhof, Germany.
The full-brother to GALILEO was Gr.1-placed at 2 (Critérium de Saint-Cloud, France),
a Gr.1 winner and Champion 3yo in Italy, and a Gr.1 winner at 4 (Tattersalls Gold Cup, 10 furlongs).
Black Sam Bellamy
Between BLACK
SAM BELLAMY and
Jean-Pierre Deroubaix, there is a love story! When Mrs Ling Tsui, a new client
from Hong Kong, was offered twenty horses for
sale from a Japanese owner having some financial problems, Jean-Pierre went to
inspect the horses in order to advise Mrs. Ling Tsui. It was a little bit
difficult because they were already 2yo's, but unraced, so it was hard to know
how good they were.
After studying the pedigrees, the conformation and the price, Jean-Pierre strongly advised Mrs Tsui to buy them. A good idea! Among the twenty horses
were ADIEU AU ROI (Gr.1
winner in France), TAKE RISKS (a top class Group-winning miler in France
and now a very good stallion) and URBAN
SEA.
URBAN SEA was elected
the following year to European Champion filly; she is the winner of Prix de l'Arc
de Triomphe and the dam of four foals in racing age, ALL Group winners
including the own brothers GALILEO
and BLACK SAM BELLAMY.
When you hear that Jean-Pierre advised to send URBAN SEA to Coolmore Stud,
in order tobe covered by SADLER'S WELLS!
It was a good idea, wasn't it?
Toulouse: FBA will sponsor the 2003 edition of the Listed race Prix Aymeri de Mauléon. The prestigious race is re-named Prix FBA.
