race-horses.com
Core activity of this major portal site is the comprehensive bloodstock service, but there's a wealth of tipping information, and material on all aspects of European and World racing. theracecourseguide.co.uk
Links, mainly to racecourses. The most useful integrated feature is the area course maps, courtesy of multimap.com. Otherwise, a click on a link keeps us in an inconveniently small window - which plays havoc with the design of some sites - and the navigation system is confusing

TEAMtalk Horseracing
TEAMtalk "is serviced by a network of over 60 in-house and 225 external journalists who produce in depth, original coverage of a diverse range of sports, 7 days a week". Elegant design, though most of their content is upstaged by Racing Post, but TEAMtalk's Nag Me facility - a search and email facility to give runner notification - is a very useful free service

U

UK.sport.horseracing
UK racing newsgroup, centred on fantasy racing competitions, but with plenty of lively debate on betting, breeding and all topics relating to horseracing in the United Kingdom. Tipster spamming, system seekers and lager louts pose an occasional problem, but there are still plenty of worthwhile contributions
